Positive Behavior Intervention Support is a school-wide approach for teaching appropriate behaviors in order to optimize academic achievement for each student. We use a systematic approach that establishes and reinforces clear behavioral expectations called Positive Behavior Intervention Support. Positive Behavioral Intervention Support encompasses a variety of methods that help students understand the behavioral expectations for different settings on our campus (i.e. classroom, hallway, sidewalk, bus, playground, cafeteria, etc). Overall, we are teaching and reinforcing our students to be respectful, on task, to have a positive attitude, and be responsible.
Our mascot is the Cool Cat and our school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention Support initiative is known as the Cool Cats program. Cool Cat stickers are awarded daily and students' names are announced on the intercom.
The North Carolina Positive Behavior Intervention Support Initiative has recognized Wrightsboro as an Exemplar School for the following years: 2008-2009, 2009-2010, 2010-2011, and 2014-2015.
